Wild Jungle Trip/Wild Jungle

healing journey in close contact with nature

You are very welcome to join us for a journey through the wild, magical jungles of Peru! During this trip you will have the opportunity to live in close contact with lush, vibrant nature and experience its healing. You will be able to learn about many medicinal plants, swim in paraisical, therapeutical hot springs, and partake in the sacred plant medicine of ayahuasca. Throughout the trip there will also be opportunities for ceremonial and spiritual work, increasing your communication and communion with self and nature – the earth, trees and waters. In addition, you will also have the possibility of receiving individual healing sessions.

On this journey, being in close contact with nature implies living simply. We will spend some nights in simple hostals and others in tents. Some of the distances we will cross are only accessible by foot, so there will be a fair bit of walking. Some of the time we will, however, have the option of going by car – so the exact amount of walking will depend on the will of the group as well as on the condition of the roads. All long distance travel will take place by plane, though, leaving as much time as possible to stay and enjoy at the beautiful places we will visit.

After the jungle trip, you can chose between returning to Lima or to continue the journey with us to Chachapoyas. Here you will see a totally different aspect of Peru, in the remnants of a culture which developed totally independently of the Inka empire. Among the marked differences between the Chachapoya culture and the Inkas, are their architectural styles, their handicraft and their funerary customs. Chachapoyas offers you its beautiful nature, including an enormous quantity of different kinds of orchids, and its interesting archaological sites in relative freedom from tourists. These days will give you an opportunity to rest and recuperate after your wildlife and ayahuasca experiences, through a gradual return to city or travel life. It will also be possible for you to participate in a San Pedro ceremony.

You will be guided on the trip by José ´Pepe´ Arrospide,  has been exploring and bringing travelers to the Peruvian jungle and its plant medicines for 38 years. He is a very inspirational guide, sharing generously his passion for and knowledge about its unique nature and its healing properties. This journey consists of Pepe´s uniquely developed itenary, which is not offered by any other guide or travel agency. Therefore we will probably not encounter many other travelers during our days in the jungle. pepe is  natural therapist and energy worker, as well as a traveler and Peru-lover. He works with different aspects of Peruvian healing, including plant medicines and energetic healing from the mountain traditions.

When working with ayahuasca, our guide will have help of  other person in the songs  and  music  .

Throughout the trip, translation will be available between Spanish, English, Francais and..  Deutsch

The number of participants on the journey is limited to 12.

   The minimal number is 6.

Day 4

Early in the morning we will head back to Pucallpa. From there we will catch a flight to Contamana, which is anAmazonian village located on the side of the Ucayali river.Starting from here, we will move deeper into the jungle. Depending on the condition of the road, as well as on the group, we will either go by foot (5 hours) or by car for most of the way (1 hour car, 40 minutes walk). Our destination, located 20 km from the village of Contamana, is a beautiful location possessing natural thermal waters formed by the union of two different rivers. At the junction of these two rivers, one hot and one cold, we find our thermal waters – completely natural, without human alteration. Rock caverns also form natural saunas. Arriving at this mysterious place is an amazing experience, its beautiful landscape impossible to forget.

After setting up camp on the beachy edges of the waters we will prepare ourselves a rustic lunch and eat there along the banks of the water. After lunch we will have time to soak in the sulfurous thermal waters, experiencing its relaxing, detoxifying and healing effects. We will spend the night here in this location, sleeping in tents, in true contact with nature, listening to the hundreds of sounds of wild animals.

Day 5

We will wake up before sunrise to begin a trek through the National Reserve jungle, during which we will hopefully see a range of wild animals. Our first stop is a location where we will hide and watch for the many parrots which gather at this point to eat and mate. We will then continue to a beautiful waterfall where we will stop and be able to enjoy a relaxing natural bath. We will return to our campsite for lunch, after which we will have more time to enjoy the hot thermal baths situated between natural, gigantic rock formations. We will spend another night here at this site. Depending on the weather we will be able to enjoy the natural baths into the night, under the stars, and/or the warmth of our bonfire. At some point while staying next to the thermal waters we will also make ceremony, getting closer to the water element, cleansing and giving thanks.

Day 6

After breakfast we will make our way back to Contamana (again by foot or car) where we will have some free time to explore the village and have lunch. Later in the afternoon we will leave Contamana, making the 6 hour journey by boat along the
Ucayali river towards Canchahualla. In this Shipibo community we will lodge with the inhabitants, in one of their houses.

Day 7

From Canchahualla we will begin an unforgettable trek along a rugged path during which we will pass three beautiful waterfalls. The first two are too hot for swimming, but in the third one (7 metres high) we will be able to enjoy a relaxing bath in the spectacular surroundings. Here we will also make a meditation journey, beginning to prepare us for our upcoming ayahuasca ceremonies. On the same path we will pass a small mountain, the only place in the jungle where it´s possible to see all three rows of Andean mountains crossing the lands of Peru. After having returned to our lodgings we will prepare ourselves a meal, before returning by boat to the village of Contamana.
